University of Texas Student Patio Area

University of Texas Student Patio Area

A beautiful new patio, consisting of a striking manufactured stone made by Stone Creek Pavers, was installed at The University of Texas Student Union Courtyard in Austin, Texas. The 6,700 sq. ft. space, open to the elements of weather and excessive traffic, would need a powerful component to keep out water and stain damage away from the stone and grout. Stone Creek Pavers recommended using NANO1000, an ecologically green, invisible treatment that will never chip or peel.

STONE CURE Recovery

STONE CURE RecoveryThe Four Seasons Hotel in Las Colinas, Texas, recently remodeled the lobby bar and installed new marble bar tops. The very expensive marble quickly became extremely etched and discolored from lemon and lime juice spills. Although only a few weeks old, the stone already looked worn and damaged. An expert team from Lasting Services and Products (Sandy Shires), using new products and techniques developed by Kinloch USA, was able to transform the damaged surfaces back to their original beauty.

Case Study 1: Stained Concrete Protected

Case Study 1: Stained Concrete ProtectedAs a case study, Kinloch USA, in cooperation with PIB Homes, hypothesized that the NANO1000 clear treatment could be applied over a stained concrete residential slab and virtually protect the slab for the life of the construction project. This is in lieu of covering the stained concrete floor with protective sheets of plastic and tape. The painters, sheet rock texture sprayers, plumbers, trim carpenters, and various other contractors could not track in enough mud or make enough mess that could not be removed.

Case Study 2: White Limestone Turned to Green

Case Study 2: White Limestone Turned to GreenAn expensive residential home in Austin, Texas had a 2000 square foot limestone patio freshly installed. Within one week the entire front porch was covered in algae due to the rain experienced that week and the dense vegetation surrounding the area. The white stone literally looked like a light green spray had been dusted over it and it was also in the fresh grout. This client was lucky that the damage was occurring only in the first week and could be easily cleaned off. NANO1000 was applied to the patio and has been algae-free since.

Case Study 3: Taxi Stand Free and Clear

Case Study 3: Taxi Stand Free and ClearNAN01000 was originally formulated to adhere to a strict set of requirements from the national historical preservation standards in England and to stop chewing gum and graffiti damage. In other words, protect buildings and streets with materials that will not deteriorate, erode, peel, or change the original appearance at all. For example, white spotting is apparent when chewing gum is removed and noticeable color changes in the stone occur when removing graffiti. The old surface has to be resurfaced and cleaned through expensive and time consuming methods. Usually, soda blasting, harsh cleaners, and hot water power washing and sometimes resurfacing are required to remove the stains and the results were very noticeable.
